Believe Gods Word – Sam Vance

Camp Meeting Monday Night 10/24/22 – Pastor Sam Vance

Turn with me, if you would. I do know a lot of talking. My wife said to watch your watch. Said they’ll call you back if you don’t take all day. And so that’s a night I took too long into place. But anyways, as all right, they liked it in Hebrews, chapter ten. Would you turn there with me? You know, I was so glad today when I was preaching that funeral, of course, and I talked about a mansion and I knew that one fellow nervous he’d go to one of the different churches. But I said, it’s a mansion, it’s not an apartment. It’s not a little shady or something where I got what I think. But anyways, that’s neither here or there. But aren’t you glad it’s a mansion? We don’t know exactly what it will be like, but we know it’s beautiful. Heaven is a beautiful place. It’s very beautiful from what God gave us. A little glimpse of it and every once in a while I read about it and I go through and read everything I can about it because I’m old enough to know that I’m going pretty soon. Now, some of you might not go before me, but I’m looking forward to it. As Dale said. Even so, come Lord Jesus. It’s a blessing. I’ve met some wonderful people and Brother Sam here with us tonight, I think the world. I’ve got a couple of people from our neighbor back there too. They come up to whatever, friends too. And all the rest of you have been my friends for years and thank God for that. Each one of you, we’re Bible believers. How many believe that? Are your Bible, believers. The right Bible. I never wavered. I told you the story of me buying the wrong Bible when I first got saved. Some of you know it. I didn’t have a Bible. And I said, I’m going to the Bible Bookstore. And I said, well, give me the best Bible to God. I was so excited about being a Christian, I can’t explain it to you. And I stayed up half the night. I had to get up at 05:00 and go to work and it’s heavy, hard work. And now I’d get up in the morning and read some more. But I was so excited. But I had a little Bible. My brother in law left her little white Bible gift Bible, I guess, but I love reading it. I didn’t know what King James was. I read it, but it was good. And I began to read it, but it was coming apart on me. So I was going to get me a good Bible. And I went to the Bible bookstore and drove her. And I told the lady there, I said, I want the best Bible you got. And I didn’t know the difference in them at all. And she said, I’ve got just exactly what you need. I got the Bible you need. And I said, well, bring it out here. And she brought it out in his box and everything and opened it up. It was green. I’ve never seen a green vibe in my life. And I said, Is that the proper color? She said, that’s what it is. That’s because it’s a new one. She said, It’s a brand new one. And I didn’t think nothing of it. And I paid her for it. It’s a pretty good price I paid for that thing. And I went home and I started reading it. It didn’t make a bit of sense to me. It just like reading a funny book or something. I didn’t know. I wasn’t but two or three weeks old, but I couldn’t read. So I went to my pastor, like I should have done before. And I asked my pastor, I said, what’s wrong with this Bible? I said, It’s not like mine. He said, let me see. And he said, Sam, you know what you got? I said, no, if I did, I wouldn’t come to you. And he said, you throw that thing away and go get you a Bible. And he was King James. Only then he’s a Southern Baptist. But he’s King Jameson. And I went and got me a good I got me a scofield. I’ve had one ever since. Now, if you don’t like scofield, you are baptized. I like it, I like them. I understand. Even my son don’t even use a scofield. Yeah, quit fooling around. I’ve done ten minutes down while I talk. But anyways, in chapter ten in Hebrews, listen, that’s what I titled a message believe God’s Word. I have no trouble believing God’s word. I never did when I got saved, and I haven’t yet. Now, I don’t understand it all. I can’t explain it all, but I believe it all. God knows. And I can tell when somebody is preaching from the Bible, when somebody is using the Bible. I’ve got to God give me that discernment through the Holy Spirit. And what a blessing it’s Rebecca. For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the commerce there and two perfect, for then would they not have ceased to be offered it’s continue to do it, because that the worshippers once purged, should have had no more conscience of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins. Every year had to do it over a year. Every year do it over, goes on. For it is not possible I like those words, don’t you? God is so dogmatic on his words and he wants you to know sin. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins, wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, sacrifice and offering thou wouldst not. But a body, a body hast thou prepared me in burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin? Thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, lo I come in the volume of the book, it is written of me to do thy will, O God above. When he said, sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin, thou wouldst not, neither hadst thou pleasure therein which are offered by the law. Then said I said he, though I come to do thy will, O God, he taketh away the first and he may establish the second. By the whit will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once and for all. Isn’t that beautiful? They already prayed for us. I don’t want to take too long, I really don’t. And I’m going to really try as hard as I can. We believe the Bible. Our instructions on salvation, sanctification, service, satisfaction. We learn our way of life and God’s will for our life and God’s work for our life. It’s all in the Bible. People say, well, I don’t know. God’s will. If you’re doing what God wants you to do, and you know you’re doing all doing what God’s will, you’re in the will of God. He’ll move you when it’s time, but stay in there and keep doing what you’re supposed to be doing. An old man told me that, and I wasn’t very old. I said, I know I’m in the will of God. He said, Are you doing everything God wants you to do right now? I said, yes, sir. He said you’re in God’s wheel. I said, that’s kind of simple. And God kept moving me place and different things. And I started learning a little bit more here and there. I still don’t know everything, but I’m telling you one thing, I sure love everything about it, don’t you? Sometimes people ask me, said, you enjoying retirement? I just don’t believe it there’s any place as long as you can I don’t remember like I did, I don’t preach like I did, but I still know the word of God and I want to speak on that word of God and let people know about it. We need a blood sacrifice. He said, look at verse 29 and 22 there, if you would, with me. Nine and 22. Let me go back to this just a little bit. And almost all things by the law purge with blood and without the shedding of blood is no remission. There’s no salvation without what they used to call it. A lot of us, they called bloody Baptist. We are bloody Baptist. We believe in the blood, and without it, there’s no cleansing, there’s nothing anyway, there’s a blood. And we need a perfect sacrifice. Ten three and 17. Look what he says here. First three and then 17. He says, but in those sacrifices, there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. But now, once you go to 17, look what he says there and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Isn’t that beautiful? I just think it’s wonderful. Every time I read that, I get excited about it and I think about it. I go back a little bit and remember some things that I did and I said, God forgot. Really, it’s a blessing that somebody could love you that much and send his only begotten son to bleed and die for you and go and suffer our hell and our grave and pull us up out of that old horrible pit at Mary Clay and set our feet on a solid rock and establish our gold and shed that love abroad in your heart and my heart. To love one another like we should, and to love our spouse like we should, to love our children like we should, to love our church like we should. I can’t imagine somebody not loving their church. I just can’t imagine that I never have got where I could get that in my heart. I love the church. It’s God’s church. He loved it so much that he gave Himself for it. And if he gave himself for it, surely I can be faithful to it and I can share it with other people. What a wonderful church it is. What a wonderful place it is. We have a savior. We needed a perfect savior. Hebrews 1012, you looked at it for me. But that’s man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God. What a savior. What a god we have. Sometimes we take Him just for granted. We don’t praise him enough. We don’t talk to Him enough. We don’t love him enough. But he’s still got it, and he’s there for us. We believe in a prepared body. He took on a robe of flesh so that old robe of flesh could die. Now, God didn’t die. God never did die. God can’t die. But he wrote that robo flesh, and he died for you and me and suffered it all, for all of us. He Jesus offered his body. Verse ten, it says there, it says, by the witch will we are sanctified, set apart through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once and for all. It was a body that resurrected. A lot of people tried to tell you spirits some of his false teachings. He told John, he said, just put your hand right there. Put your hand right there. Then he eats honeycomb fish. I like fish, don’t you, honeycomb? We had something the other day. He gives us eternal salvation. They lose it and they get it and they lose it. They didn’t get it. They didn’t get it. You don’t lose something that God takes control of. He told us very plainly, it’s wonderful and so forth, what God has given us. He said that we had in John, chapter three and verse 15, he said we got eternal life then he tells us in John Three and 16, he says, god so loved us that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believed Him not perished, but have everlasting life. And the way I read that, that’s eternal, everlasting, that’s forever. That’s forever. That’s forever. And thank God for he jesus remembers our sins no more. We read that verse of her, and that amazes me every time I read it. He remembers our sins, he doesn’t remember. Listen, he forgave our past, he forgive our present. I’m talking about salvation now. And forgives our future. Now we’re going to give an account of what we do. So then every one of us should give an account of himself to God. After we’re saved. We’re not to lay around and not do anything. Listen, there’s a lot of things you can do if it’s nothing but pray, pray, pray a lot as a witness. Let somebody see Christ in you. There’s people looking at you, watching you. We believe in a perfect book, a perfect book, a pure book. The word of God is pure. It’s perfect, it’s powerful. The word of God is God. In the beginning was a Word. The word was with God. And the word was God. This is God. Aberdell said lots of times I’ll just use it. It’s just as if Jesus Christ stepped out on the balcony, I tired and speaking to you and me. That’s how powerful this Word is. That’s why he tells us to use the Word of God, not our ideals are not his ways, our thoughts are not his thoughts. You know nothing about it. It’s God we believe in, the perfect. Our Bible is perfect. Psalm 119 140 to us it’s pure, goes on, our Bible is the truth. Psalm 191 42 said, it’s the truth. John 832, he says, you should know the truth, and the truth will set you free. I can tell it immediately, not because of how smart I am, it’s because there’s a person inside of me named the Holy Spirit of God immediately when there’s false teaching, it doesn’t take me all night, because I’ve learned enough to know the truth, and the truth will set you’re free. He said, if the Son shall set you free, you shall be free indeed. Didn’t. That what he said. That’s a fact right there. He goes on, our Bible is the truth. Our Bible is the great love story, I should say the greatest love story that ever written. There has never been a love story that you could compare to. He’s not only a friend that sticks closer to brother, he’s not on our friend that loves that all time, but he’s a God that loves us unconditionally. He’s a God that loves us everlasting. He’s a God that lives within our heart. He took a boat in there through the Holy Spirit, and he lives there. And remember, when you’re out there walking by yourself or something, he’s there remember, he’s there when you think about something you shouldn’t think about, and I do sometimes he’s there. He knows what I’m thinking. He said, Tell us what to think on. He said, Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. I’ve tried to water it up and do this and that but I’ve tried to clean it up and make sure that I think on things mostly for Him. Sometimes I don’t. I’m sorry for that. And he goes on to tell us, great love story. What a love story it is. John 316 we read there in Romans 835 to 39 we’re not getting there but don’t have time. I don’t want to take time. But he said, there’s nothing in this world can separate us, nothing created in this world that can separate us from the love of God. That’s amazing. Nothing in this world that can separate us from the love of God. He’ll love you when you don’t love Him. He loved me before I ever knew Him. But God commanded his love toward just why we are at sinners. He loves us. Every once in a while he would just frickin and tell me how much he loves me. We believe in his precious blood. Nine to twelve we talked about 1010 out of three days. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once and for nine and twelve where he talks about neither by the blood of goats and all that, but it goes on to say but by his own blood, perfect blood, pure blood, powerful blood. And it doesn’t stop working. You know how your blood goes through and goes down your kidney? It’s got to be cleaned up and come back again and all that. I don’t know all there is to know about it, but I know if I get high blood every once in a while and my head starts popping up here, I know there’s something wrong. But there’s never anything wrong with his blood. It’s perfect. It never wires out. It never gets higher or low. I might get higher or low, but he doesn’t and the blood doesn’t. It’s powerful blood. It’s wonderful blood. We are redeemed by that precious blood. Oh, praise God. See, we’re not redeemed with croppable things such as silver and gold, but with the precious blood of the Lamb of God, without blemish or without spot. That’s the blood we are purged to serve his blood in verse 14 and a texture for one offering he has perfected forever them that are sanctified. He set us apart for Him. Not for us, not for anybody else, for Jesus. You know, if we love Him like we should and we serve Him like we should and we pray and talk to Him like we should, we love our family, we love our wife, we love our children. There’s nothing in the world I wouldn’t do for but that’s because God shed that love in my heart. I didn’t have that before. I didn’t act like it either. Sometimes I don’t act like it now. Ask them. Yeah, we are purged by that blood. We are cleansed by that blood. Verse 17 there said he doesn’t remember it and their sins and Nickeries will. I remember no more clean. When God looks down, he doesn’t see that old flesh I got. He sees the blood of Jesus. It’s draped all over me. It cleanses me. It’s all over me. We believe in the purchase church. He loved this church. And people make all kinds of excuses. I know when they’re sick, they can’t come. God knows that. But I’m going to tell you something I tell the people every once in all this. And Dr. Carl Johnson used to say he said, there’s one reason you can miss church. And I didn’t know what he was getting ready to say, but he said that’s when you’re at the funeral home. I said, well, that’s pretty good, you know, I have to know when you miss. He said, that’s because you’re stretched out right down there. He said, that’s the only reason you miss church now. He said, I’m telling you that I feel that way about church. I really do. I feel that way, and I have ever since I’ve been saved. I feel that way about church. I love church. I purchased church over in Ephesians in chapter five. And

he says, therefore, as a church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be so jealous. I said, Husband, love your wife. Even as Christ also loved a church. And what do you do? Gave himself for it. That’s you and me. That’s everybody. That’s truly a Bible, bloodworch Bible saved, he gave Himself for because he loved us. We believe Jesus gave his life for the church. In the 525. We believe the church is Jesus bride. We’re going home one day. I don’t want to be ashamed when I see Him to you. Ovarian first John, I think it’s chapter three there or something. And he talks about that verse 28. He tells us about that almost. I got to get out of here. But anyways, I got a few things to say here. I want to read this. It reminds me of once in a while verse 28 and chapter two. And now little children abide in him, that when he shall appear. This is what he says we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at his coming. Then he goes on in chapter three and verse one behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us that we should be called the sons of God. Therefore the world knoweth us not because it knew Him. Beloved. Isn’t that a wonderful love? That’s just a love story. Beloved. He calls us beloved now. Are we the Son of God? We don’t have to wait for that. People said I don’t know. I know right now his spirit bears witness. My spirit every day when I read the Bible, I get that assurance every day, god. And it goes on to say, beloved, now we’re sons of God. And it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see Him as he is. Then he goes on to tell us that. And every man that has this hope in him purify himself even as his pure. He said, be holy for I’m holy. Live like you’re a Christian, love like you’re a Christian, work like a Christian, go on and on. We believe in the Promised Bridegroom, verse 37 and back in our text here, we read that and we’ll get out of here for you. He said you’re a little while. I don’t know how long that is, but I’m like, well, I believe it’s real soon. It’s real soon. And he that she’ll come will come. It didn’t say much. He said she’ll come and he will come and will not. Terry, do you know he’s never terry. People talk about him. Terry. He’s never tears. He’s never been a minute later, a minute early. He got perfect time. A lot of Christians need to learn that, don’t they? They tear some of them tear along and they should anyway, we shouldn’t be listening for the shout. And it’s going to come just anytime. I’m not going to read over in there. We can pray. Hebrews 1019. What he says having therefore brother boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, we can pray. Isn’t it wonderful that we have such an opportunity to go to the throne of grace anytime, night or day? I don’t sleep good. 81 years old changes your sleeping habits. And I got my appeal to it. Don’t help much either. But you know what? I found out? The best sleeping medicine I can ever have. Start praying. I’ll start praying and talking to God and telling him how good he is. Devil gets away from me, I go to sleep. We can pray. We can have a true heart. Verse 22. There talks about that true heart. Let us draw near with a true heart, not a wishy worshy heart, not one that goes this way and that way he lives.
