Looking for that day, and we believe that that day is near. And so, Father, I pray you to help us to be found faithful when that day comes. And the Lord lead us, guide us, and direct us. And I pray that you would help my thoughts tonight to be what you would have them to be, the message to be what you’d have it to be. And give us clear to your thought, clear to your mind. And, Father, I pray that you would help us to leave here differently than when we got here. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Let’s start in Revelation, chapter number two. Verse number 18 says, under the angel of the church in Thia Tara right now, let’s just stop and review what we’ve gone over so far. The Lord Himself is writing these letters to local churches in Asia Minor. We’ve covered three of them so far, and this is the fourth one. And they have a local application. We discussed that. Ephesus, Smyrna and Pergamus, and now Thorough Tara, but they have a church age, church period application. We’ll look at what ours relates to tonight, and they also have an individual application to each and every one of us as living today in this time frame. And I believe tonight’s message has to do with not being allied with the world, not being married to the world, however you want to put it, our affections not being on the world, but being on the Lord. And we’re going to see how that applies and why that applies. But in the church of Ephesus, they realized they had left their first love. That’s where it starts. Got to stay close to our first love, our first desire, our first motive. Our first love should be the Lord Jesus Christ. And the next church is not really a correction for this particular church. But he said, I want you to be faithful even unto death. He said, I know your poverty, but thou art rich. Wouldn’t that be nice for the Lord to say of us? He said, I know you’re poor, and I know inflation is skyrocketing and you may not have much left over, but really you’re rich towards me. And they were going through a lot of persecution, so even when trials and troubles come, we ought to be faithful to Him. And then pergamus. We talked about that last week, but tonight we’re going to talk about thia tyra and what that means. Under the angel of the church and thia tyra ripe these things, saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes likened to a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine breasts. I know thy works and charity and service and faith and thy patience and thy works and the last to be more than the first. Notwithstanding, I have a few things against thee because thou suffers that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce. My servants to commit fornication and to eat things sacrificed on the idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication, and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death. And all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts. And I will give unto every one of you according to your works. But unto you I say and under the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine which have not known the depths of Satan as they speak, I will put upon you none other burden but that which ye have already. Hold fast till I come. And he that overcometh and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations and he shall rule them with a rod of iron as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers, even as I received in my Father. And I will give him the morning star. He then hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. I want you to notice, just at a quick glance, quick notice verse 29. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says in the churches. The Lord has said that in all past letters, right? This is the first time the order has been switched. He said, those that overcome in the first three and then he that hath an ear, let him hear. And now it switches order. And I think it keeps that order of the other letters. But it’s interesting to note it’s as if the church and in quotations, not the true church, but all that claims to be the church is pushing Jesus out. And we’re going to find a Leoncia that he is outside of what’s labeled as a church looking in, not the true church, not the true believers in Jesus Christ, but not everybody that claims the name of church is truly a church, right? Not everybody that claims the name of Christian is truly born again, blood washed, saved by the grace of God. And in religion today, people are pushing out Jesus. It’s odd to say, but that’s happening. Here’s the background. And then we’re going to talk about that woman Jezebel. Okay? The background is the church. The city of Thigh Tire was not as large as the first three, but it was a well known center for numerous trades, potters, tanners, bronze workers and dyers. Acts, chapter 16, verse 14. Now listen, we’ve read this before and a certain woman named Lydia, a cellar of purple of the city of Thyrotara. It’s interesting to me to note that this letter is written to the church of Thyrotara and in it is a woman named Jezebel, who represents somebody that’s already inside on the church, corrupting the church, and yet contrast that with Lydia, who was the first European convert to Christianity. And look what happened to her household, whose heart the Lord opened and she attended under the things which were spoken of Paul. And when she was baptized in her household, she besad us saying, if you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and abide there. And she constrained us. She heard the gospel she believed in, her whole household believed. And you see the Godly influence that this Godly lady had. And ladies realize you have a much greater influence in the affairs of this world than you realize. What’s the saying as the somebody help me as a critic? Exactly what they said. There’s a lot of influence there and and a lady can often influence someone for the Lord or against the Lord. And it’s the same case in this particular area. So anyway, that’s the background. We’ll get to Jezebel here in a minute. The church period represented is between 8681, 500. It crosses the span called the Dark Ages. Some of you may remember that time period, okay? It it had a rapid rise of Romanism. And there is a religion I want you to to listen to me. We’re not picking on anybody, but we got to speak the truth. There is a religion that introduces false doctrine and false teaching. Notice first of all, we’ll get to the things that they are good for. But I want you to look at verse number 20 says, I have a few things against me because that suffers that woman Jezebel, which calls herself a prophetess. And let’s just set things straight. In God’s economy, a woman has no business being a pastor of a church or a preacher in a church. Amen. That’s what God’s word says clearly says. And she was usurping authority where she had no authority to begin with. So that’s strike one. She was bringing in false teachings. He was bringing in false doctrine. There is a religion that teaches that you address mankind or amen as Holy Father, and you place a woman in the place of the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. And instead of worshiping God the Son, you worship a woman. Instead you worship the mother of Jesus. Prayers are made to Mary and it is known by those that are in it as the mother church. That religion has caused a lot of people to believe a lie. It’s interesting that in this verse, number 20 says, to teach and to seduce my servants, to commit fornication and eat things, sacrifice and idols. I believe that’s a spiritual reference. But isn’t it interesting to note that many that are caught up in this religion, inside this religion, are often immoral? And there is a lot of idolatry in this religion. They go in and worship idols. We’ll look at that a little bit later, but let’s get back up to verse number 19. Verse number 18. Actually, I want you to look at who it is that’s writing again. It’s Jesus. His titles that he gives himself. He said these things saith, read it with me. The Son of God. Now he’s reminding them that he is gone. As we heard this morning from brother McBride, he is God. When we pray, we don’t pray through a man. We don’t pray to a woman. We don’t pray to the so called Queen of Heaven. There is no such thing. We pray directly to our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ. Who is God the Son. Amen. John 14, verse 13 whatsoever you shall ask in My name jesus said that. Will I do that? The Father may be glorified in the Son. If you shall ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 1623 and in that day you shall ask me nothing. Very last saying to you. Whatsoever you shall ask the Father in My name excuse me. He will give it to you. Here the two. Have you asked nothing in My name? Asking you shall receive that your joy may be full. So why is he saying this? Well, in this in this religion that was going on and there’s applications for us too, so bear with me. They’re replacing they’re degrading the name of Jesus. And we can do that in life, not just in doctrine. You and I know they’re here tonight know that Jesus is the Son of God. When we live our lives, do we live it as if we’re living for the Son of God? Are we degrading his name that way? But they were degrading his name. So he said, I want you to know I am the son of God. Not the son of Mary, definitely not the Son of Joseph, but the Son of God who hath his eyes like into a flame of fire. That’s not necessarily a vision yet that’s comforting when you lay down your head on a pillow at night. But that’s speaking. He sees through everything. He sees the end most. As a matter of fact, he says that verse number 23 I search the reins and the hearts I see inside. I know what’s on the inside of mankind. He knows our thoughts. Hagar cried thou? God seest to me in Genesis chapter number 16. You may have read that in your Bible reading. Jeremiah said that he tries the minds, the reins and hearts of all men. The disciples prayed Thou Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men. He says, I see your heart. You can’t you can’t put a facade. We can’t fool our Lord and savior. He sees right through us. He sees our intense, our motives. Bible says that Jesus knew what was in man. He didn’t need anybody to testify of that. Peter exclaimed to the Lord, lord, thou knowest all things. So I think we get the point. And then his feet are like fine breasts. That speaks of his judgment. Sin must be judged. He’s going to deal with a sin that’s brought up, and he’s going to deal with the judgment. I’m glad that we have both a loving and a holy God, aren’t you? And his holiness demands that sin must be punished, must be taken care of. His love says, I’m going to meet that judgment, or I’m going to meet that punishment. And by faith we receive God’s forgiveness. That punishment was still handed out to the Son on the cross. And if we don’t receive Jesus Christ as our Savior, that punishment is still in our account. So his judgment, all right, so these things say, if the Son of God, who hath his eyes likened to a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine breasts, you might be able to bribe a judge here on this earth, but you can’t bribe the righteous Son of God and righteous judgment. Verse 19 I know thy works. Every church, he says, I know thy works. He knows the works of PAX France Baptist Church. Matter of fact. He knows the heart behind the works of our church. He knows the songs that we sing. He knows the specials that we do. He knows the messages that are preached, the junior church lessons, the Sunday school lessons, the door greeters. He knows all of that. He knows our works. I’m glad he knows our works. Nobody else may know it, but he does. Look what else he knows. And charity, their love. It’s a birthmark of the believer. We have a loving church. Would you agree with that? If you don’t agree with that, it’s not very loving. Okay? But we do have a loving church. And I’ve talked to a lot of people, and those that are going through difficult things right now will tell me as a pastor, Eric or Brother Eric said, we’ve got a loving church. We’ve got a caring church, and I agree with them. The Lord looked down on this church and said, one of your earmarks, your earmarks says charity. I know your charity. And it’s because God has shed his love in our hearts that’s good. That’s to be commended. He said, not only do I know your works, I know your charity, I know your service, your ministry. You’re busy about the work of the Lord. When the pastor says there’s visitation day, you go out and you visit. When they say there’s a prayer meeting, you come and you participate in the prayer meeting. You go and you participate in the choir. You’re busy about the ministry. That’s wonderful. He says, I know your faith, I know your faithfulness and thy patience. You are patiently enduring. And I say, that’s wonderful. That’s great. And then he says, I know thy works. They were patient. Let me go back to patients. They were patient in the tribulation. In their tribulation, they were patient under trials. And patience is produced out of faith, love, true love. Produces service, right? If we love the Lord, we’ll work for the Lord. Patience is produced by faith. If we’re trusting in the Lord as we should, that will cause us to be patient and wait on Him as we should. And that’s what they were doing. They were patiently waiting on him. One Peter 220 let me just read this first to you. What glory is it if when you are buffeted for your fault, you shall take it patiently? But if when you do well and suffer for it, you take it patiently? That is acceptable with God and Hebrews twelve one, let us run the race with patience. Let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Then he mentions works again a second time and the last to be more than the first. The last works to be more than the first works. What do you mean by that? Well, they were continually progressing. They were growing in grace, they were growing in their ministry, in their works. They didn’t just stay stagnant, they were continually working. And he said, that’s commendable, that’s great, that’s wonderful. It’s interesting. I wrote this down to history. The works of this church and this church period are lost. There’s not much that are that is known about anything during the Dark Ages. And that was because of this religion that we’re talking about now. They stamped out a lot of that, but it’s not forgotten to God. Me say, you may be forgotten by mankind, but you won’t be forgotten by God. Your faithfulness will be rewarded at the judgment seat of Christ. I truly believe that. He said, here’s a correction, though, notwithstanding, I have a few things against thee in spite of all that, because thou suffers that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess to teach and to seduce my servants. All right, so who is the woman Jezebel? Well, in history, in the Old Testament, she was the daughter of Ethbel, not somebody you want to name your child. Who was the pagan king of the Zedonians? We know her more as the wife of King Ahab of the northern tribe of Israel. And she influenced him to do more wickedly than all the kings that were before him. There were some wicked kings before Ahab, but she influenced him to do even more wickedly than all the kings that were before. She set up Bell worship in Israel, in the northern kingdom, the ten tribes in the north. She threatened Elijah, the man of God, and Elijah actually ran from her. And God said, go back, go return, she’s not your concern. She killed innocent lives. Her personal prophet. Do you remember Naboth in his vineyard, king Ahem had what we call the poochie lip disease. And his wife said, why are you pouting this and just take care of it? The priests of Bell were also very immoral. What was her teaching? Well, she introduced a false religion and I believe that’s what the Lord is referring to here. There is a religion where man is assuming the place of teacher and dictator and Christ is rejected and it’s being allied with the world. It’s interesting. This particular religion is seeking glory on this earth, seeking political influence in a world that rejects Jesus Christ. Let me say our church should not seek to exalt ourselves. We exalt Jesus Christ. Amen. We’re not here to get political and say this right way. We want to influence our government for the right way to follow the word of God. But we’re not here to be in politics ourselves. We’re not here to build up treasures and wealth on this earth for ourselves, right? We’re here to lift up God’s kingdom and tell people about Jesus. This religion isn’t it changes doctrine. Just like Jezebel came in and changed the doctrine introduces a new religion. Just like Jezebel killed innocent men and women to accomplish her goals and threaten the lives of others, this religion as well did the same thing for true believers in Christ. If you’ve never read The Trail of Blood by JM. Carol, I’d recommend I’ve got copies in the back. You let me know at the end of service. I’ll get it to you. You read that and you can see throughout history it does a couple of things. One, it traces those that had certain core beliefs that we adhere to. It traced them all the way back to the New Testament time frame. But also shows you during the times that they would be persecuted for their faith by this mother church quotes. They claim that they are infallible. Their prophets are infallible. They cannot be tested. And contrast that with the Scriptures. Scriptures claim to be infallible, right? God’s word is perfect and perfectly preserved. It submits itself to every possible test. They claim that they have authority over Scripture. Now, we’re going somewhere with this, but we believe Scripture is the final authority. If Pastor Eric says something and it contradicts Scripture, you’re going to go with Scripture. Amen. The same with you. If you say something contradicts Scripture, we’re going with the Bible. That’s God’s word. We said this married the world. When politics, a church wanting political power in a world that rejects Christ introduces idolatry. Let’s just look at Deuteronomy chapter number four. We got to some people don’t understand this, and I think we do here that are here tonight, there may be somebody that that will be listening that doesn’t understand it. Deuteronomy 414 and the Lord commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments that you might do them in the land. Whether you go over to possess it take you therefore good heat on yourselves, for you saw no manner of simultude on the day that the Lord spaken you and whore about amidst the fire, lest you corrupt yourselves and make you a graven image. The simultude of any figure, the likeness of male or female. So don’t make a graven image, okay? Male or female, the likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any wing foul that flies in the hair, the likeness of anything that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth, unless thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven. And when thou seest the sun and the moon and the stars, even all the hosts of heaven shouldst be driven to worship them and serve them, which the Lord thy God hath divided into all nations under the whole heaven. Our God made these things. We aren’t to worship these things. We’re not to set up idols and images to worship, right? Amen. And Jezebel, Old Testament historically brought these things in the nation of Israel. This religion has brought these things into their religious practice, their worship. And the sad thing was not just the teachings, but this prophetess, this religion, this particular thing, this doctrine was tolerated by this church. He said, notwithstanding, I have a few things against it, because thou suffers, thou allowest that woman Jezebel to teach and to seduce my servants. No doubt there were those that stood up against this religion during this day and they lost their life for it. But by and large, it seemed like there were many that just allowed it to go, just say little foxes foil the vines. Amen. If we were to let just a little bit of error creep in, that could wreck our church and our testimony for the Lord. We’ve got to be careful that not let that get in to our church. The influence started from within the assembly and then gradually the whole thing was influenced. I want you to look verse 21, I gave her space to repent of her fornication and she repented not. The Lord gave them space to repent. They haven’t repented yet, and they won’t repent. Behold, I will cast her into a bed and then they commit adultery with her in a great tribulation. He said, more or less, you know the expression, they’ve made their bed, let them sleep in it? He said, I’m giving them up. This is what they’ve chosen. I’ve given them space to repent. I’m just going to let it happen. And these individuals are going to go through the tribulation. Now listen, there are probably some saved individuals in Scott inside of this religion. Here’s how a person gets saved. Put their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and trust him fully and holy. Maybe they don’t understand. They haven’t grown, they haven’t been taught, and they’re caught up in this. I’m not saying that that there’s nobody that’s not saved in this. But what I am saying is by and large, this group of people is not going to be raptured with the rest of the church, with her in a great tribulation to accept the repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death. And all the churches shall know I am he which searches the reins and hearts. And I will give unto every one of you according to your works. We don’t answer to a pope. We don’t set up a pope. Listen, if the Pope excommunicated me today, I would not care my soul rest in Jesus Christ. Amen. I would take that as a compliment. He God searches the reins and hearts. My hope and trust is in him, and I’ll give it unto every one of you according to your works. So then he goes on to say, but under you I say, and under the rest of the towers. Many have not this doctrine that would be PAX French Baptist Church which have not known the depths of Satan as they speak. I will put upon you none other burden but that which you have already. What does it say? Hold fast till I come. Not until the end of a certain period. Not until the end point is when Jesus returns. That means when Jesus returns. A voice the archangel has heard, the trumpet is sounded and Jesus returns. Packs franchise back to church. Ought to be serving God faithfully. Amen. Ought to be going out telling others about Jesus Christ in PAX. The Branch, Mount Hope, Weirwood, Beckley, wherever. Ought to still be serving God and proclaiming the truth found in the word of God. I believe that most of us, if not all of us, I have no reason to doubt that we won’t see that in our lifetime, see the Lord return. But let’s just say, for sake of argument, that it was to pass on to the next generation. Will they still be serving God here in this church? What are we going to give them? What are we going to deliver to them? It rests right now in our hands. Amen. What are we doing with it? I believe the Lord will come back before then. We talked about this morning. The signs of the end times are here and there’s nothing left yet except for the Lord to return. He said, hold fast that which you’ve received. Till I come faithfulness to Jesus means a great deal to the Lord. It may not mean anything to the world that you showed up to church on a Sunday night and to listen to me preach, but it means a great deal to your Heavenly Father and your Savior Jesus Christ, and he’s keeping a record of it. He’s counting that to your account as being faithful to Him. When you go to work tomorrow and this week and you get made fun of and you get laughed at for the stands that you take for being a Christian, it means a lot to the Lord that you stand faithful. Stand true to Him, true to his teachings, true to his humility and suffering. Listen, there was a time in Christendom, if you can call it that a lot of the writers call it that in the church period. Everybody that names the name of church so they be not a church where it was thought that they could bring enough people could be said that the kingdom of God would come down on earth. And you may have read about that. I think there were some organizations that even promoted that. That’s not going to happen. If Jesus suffered, you and I are to suffer, right? He said that the servant is not greater than his master. If they’ve treated me this way, they’re going to treat you that way. If they hated me, they’re going to hate you. So we’re not here building a kingdom for ourselves. It’s no wonder if we’re treated as poorly as the world treated Jesus Christ. So listen, if we, you and I get along with everybody in the world and it’s smooth selling, we may want to check up. Say, are we truly living close to the Lord, as we should? There ought to be some friction if we’re all going in the same direction. There’s no friction. But you and I ought to be going in a different direction. Amen. We’re looking for the Lord to come living for Him. Let’s keep reading. Hold fast till I come. And he that overcometh and keepeth my works unto the end to Him will I give power over the nations and he shall rule them with the rod of iron as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers even as I received of my Father. Hold your place here. Go to Psalm Two. Psalm Two. And I will read it all. Verse one. Maybe you might read some of it. Why do the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves and the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and against his anointed sai and let us break their bands of sunder and cast away the courts from us. He that siteth in the heaven shall laugh. The Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath and vex him in his sword displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. We’ve talked about that. God the Father saying to the world god the Son is my chosen king. I will declare the decree the Lord hath sent unto me thou art my Son. This day have I begotten thee. Now god the Son is speaking. Ask of me and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with the ride of iron. Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. So God the Father has given the God the Son, the kingdom of this world and that’s yet to come. But it will come just as surely as you’re sitting here. It will come and you. Know what Jesus says here? Back in Revelation, chapter two? She said, that which is given to me, I’m going to give to those that have been faithful to me. I’m going to in turn allow you to rule and to reign with me in my kingdom. What a promise that is. You and I might be the scourge of the earth right now. We might be hated by society. Listen, it’s popular to be of a certain religion in today’s economy, today’s world. Many politicians are. The wealth is there. It’s not popular to be an independent Baptist. But you know what? It’s okay, because we want to be faithful to the Scriptures and faithful to our Lord. But you know what God said? If you’re faithful, you’re faithful to me, and you can rule and reign. When I’ll rule and rain, I’m going to give that to you. Isn’t that amazing? What a promise. What a promise that is from Scripture. And I will give him the morning star. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the spirit saith under the churches. So let’s talk about some personal application for our church. Well, number one, hold fast what God has delivered. Don’t let little error creep in. Search the Scripture, see what the Scriptures say. They are our final authority, just as we talked about. Now. Let’s go to one. John. One John, chapter number two, verse number 15. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loved the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life is not of the Father, it is of the world. We’ve just touched briefly, and there’s so much more we could look into. We’re not going to just touch briefly on this false religion that set themselves up to be the final authority, how to get to heaven, how to talk to God. But they’re seeking earthly glory. They’re loving the world. You and I ought to be on the opposite side of things. And here’s where the challenge comes, here’s where the conviction comes. We know that. But how many of us are living our lives loving this present world? The Bible speaks. I think it’s in Revelation that there were those that loved not their lives under death. They willing to give up their life for the Lord. Are we so in love with this present world that we forget to look for the Lord to return? It’s been it seems like it’s been a constant theme of Jesus returning for the past several weeks. I know we talked about heaven, the Sunday school talking about the Lord returning. I believe he’s coming. I believe he’s trying to get a message across to us. Let’s loosen our grip of this world. Amen. Because we can’t take it with us anyway. We may go kicking and screaming, we’re going to go when he comes. But we’re not any use here and now if we’re gripping this world so tightly. Here’s what I mean. If God wants us to sacrifice in some way, we’re still gripping on to what we’ve got, saying, it’s mine, I’ve earned it, I’ve worked hard for it, I’m not going to give it to the Lord, then that’s loving this world. If we are too concerned with other things, you name it, God can give that application. But the point is, love not the world. Don’t look for influence for yourself, riches for yourself, right? Bible says, set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth so holy, separated living. I believe there ought to be a distinct difference between a child of God and somebody that’s not saved. Our affection should be on Christ and his coming, not on the world. Which also means that we’ll probably endure some kind of heartache suffering, some kind of trials. Not the great tribulation we’re going to be wrapped out of here before then. But if Jesus went through rejection, then his servants are going to go through rejection. If Jesus went through suffering, his servants are going to go through suffering. So let’s not be alarmed when that time comes for us. Be an active church. Go out. Let’s continue going soul winning. Continue telling the lost about Jesus. Jesus saves. Invite them to church, continue coming to Sunday school. Amen. We can learn and grow together, but be a loving church, but not a tolerating church. Make sense? We don’t tolerate evil, we don’t tolerate sin. Be a holy, be kind, but we hold the God standards. You can be compassionate and not compromising. Amen. Don’t settle on God’s standard. Little air that comes in can ruin what God’s plans are. And I believe our younger generation, the next group coming up, need to know where we stand at this Bible. We’re not pulling away from what this Bible says we’re going to do. We’re not marrying two men. Amen. We’re not marrying two women. Amen. God says one man, one woman for life, and we’re not supporting any of that. There’s only one way of salvation, and that’s not joining the church, not being baptized, but that’s by faith in Jesus Christ alone. There are some things that we are rooted solid in. Not because Pastor Vance said, not because Brother Eric said, because the Word of God said, you can’t argue with this. Amen. This is our golden standard for living, regardless of who says that. So the act of church contend for the faith once delivered. There’s no new additional revelation given. The book of Revelation completes it. All right? So we have the entire Word of God. We stand up for what God’s Word says, then we go and tell somebody else there’s going to be a church here we’ll talk about a little bit later. They were going out and reaching church and this great missionary age that the church period experienced. I think, as a church, by and large, as a group of God’s people, we’ve lost that zeal, we’ve lost that heart. I’m glad we support our missionaries, aren’t you? I think we need to support as many as we can. If we can support more, I say let’s support more. Let’s not put a number to stop that. Let’s just keep sending out the gospel of Jesus Christ. But let’s not send out the Gospel and forget to take the Gospel home, too. So let’s keep that in mind, okay? Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith he’s coming. And that verse we read this morning, I want to read that this evening. It’s first John three, verse number two. Beloved, now are we the sons of God and doth not yet appear what we shall be. But we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purified himself even as he is pure. I can find the strength to live a Godly pure, holy, clean life because Jesus is coming. The spirit of God resides in me. I don’t have to compromise. You don’t have to compromise. You don’t have to apologize for the stands that you take according to the Bible. Amen. Jesus is coming. Let’s keep staying busy for him. Listen, there are some good things this church at Fire Tire. There were some good people in this church period and even in this church local assembly. But they let air come in and it took people away from the truth. Let’s be on guard and let’s hold fast what we have until Jesus comes. Okay? Let’s stand, bow our heads, close our eyes.
