The Entry into Jerusalem
Jesus sent two of His disciples, and said to them, “Go into it, you will find a colt tied, a colt on which no one has ever sat. Loose him and bring him here.” “And if any man says to you, “Why are you doing this?” say that the Lord has need of him, and he will send the colt hither.” And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on the colt’s back. And Jesus sat upon him. And many spread their garments on the way. Others cut down branches off the trees and strewed them on the way. And they that went before and they that followed cried, “Hosanna! Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed be the kingdom of our father David that comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.” Jesus entered into Jerusalem and into the temple. And when he had looked around, the eventide was come and He went out unto Bethany with His twelve disciples.
