It may be in the evening, when the work of day is done.
While we’d be there in the twilight, to watch the sinking sun.
It may be at midnight, when it’s black upon the land.
Will I be sleeping soundly, or wondering if I can?
Or maybe it’s in the morning, when the sun is bright and strong.
And the dew is glistening so brightly all across the lawn.
Or could it be at my busiest hour, that He decides to come?
To call me from my busy work, instead of at the dawn.
I just know He’s coming shortly, it’s clear and sure I say.
He’ll surely keep His promise, and take His bride away.
