Everette Eugene "Gene" Moore, age 57, of Maple Fork, died Monday, June 2, 2008, at the Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Division following a short illness.
Born on April 6, 1951, in Ironton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Carroll Moore and Ella Pierce Moore.
Mr. Moore was a carpenter for Sterling Construction Company in Chesapeake, Ohio and a member of the Packs Branch Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Jessica and December Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Wood Moore; sons, Eugene ”Gene” Moore and wife, Olivia of Jacksonville, Fla., David Johnson and companion, Sherry White of Beaver, and Chris Johnson of Maple Fork; a daughter, Kim Harrison and husband, Scott, of South Point, Ohio; a brother, Larry Moore and wife, Tina of South Point, Ohio; three sisters, Barbara Johnson of South Point, Ohio, Carolyn Sue Oliver and husband, Paul of Hedgesville, W.Va., and Peggy Riedel and husband, John of Seattle, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, with Pastor Sam Vance officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Pallbearers will be John Hallowell, Terry Gunnoe, Kevin Harrah, David Chambers, Larry and Lewis Wood.
