On February 5, 2010, at 1:35 p.m. at Raleigh General Hospital, quite suddenly, our precious Racheal D. Bailey Meadows, age 31, left this world only to enter into her heavenly home with her Lord and Savior. She was met by loved ones who have preceded her in death, mother Beverly Manning Bailey, paternal grandfather Eugene Bailey and maternal stepgrandmother Kathryn Phillips.

Racheal has fought a good fight for the past 10 months after receiving a bone marrow stem cell transplant at Ruby Memorial Hospital in May 2009.

Born February 7, 1978, in Beckley, W.Va., she was the daughter of Ricky Bailey and the late Beverly Manning Bailey. She has been cared for over the past months by her bonus-mom Vonda Phillips Bailey of Red Star, W.Va. She was the daughter-in-law of Jerry and Patty Meadows of Glen Morgan.

Racheal was a former employee of Texas Steakhouse prior to her illness. She was a graduate of Mount Hope High School and Valley College of Technology. She was a member of Packs Branch Baptist Church and was supported by her pastor, Sam Vance, and her church family.

Besides her parents she is survived by her loving and supportive husband of almost 12 years, Robert “Bobby” Meadows, her precious children Kaitlyn, age 11, and her twins, Bailey and Jacob, age 3, all at home. She is also survived by her brother, Jeremy Bailey of Harvey, and a special niece, Brenna Bailey of Oak Hill, and is survived by paternal grandmother Ileatta Bailey of Packs Branch, maternal grandparents Bob and Pearl Manning of Scarbro, her paternal great-grandmother Edith Workman of Dorothy, and her maternal stepgrandfather Lloyd Phillips of Red Star. She will be missed by aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law, church family, co-workers and special friends.

Arrangements are being handled by Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope, with the visitation being held at Packs Branch Baptist Church on Monday, February 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 9, at 2 p.m. also at the church with Pastor Sam Vance officiating. Her cousins will serve as pallbearers. Graveside rites will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens following the funeral.
